Merry Christmas

Peace on Earth; Good will to men

How I Got This Way...

My Christmas Miracle

Here we are again, heading toward another Christmas. My memories of Christmases past are already dancing through my head. I find delight in recalling all those excited mornings when I was the first one up and scurrying for the tree to see if Santa had come through again. I especially recall the year when I got the farm set I wanted so much. The livestock, the fencing, the barn, the tractor and such had been on my mind for weeks. Not only did Santa bring just what I wanted, he even set everything up for me under the tree. Plus, the glass of milk and the two cookies I left for him were gone.

I believed in miracles then. But in later years when I was getting spit on, ridiculed, threatened, and even shot at; my belief in miracles faded somewhat. I lived in an environment where people I didn’t know attempted to kill me and others like me from time to time.

However, in more recent years, my belief in miracles has been restored.

I write now, and the miracle there is that people actually seem to like my work. My writing has been slowed down for the past year or so, and for a fairly good reason that is called leukemia. Without the help of several good doctors, new treatments, new medications, and the thoughts and prayers of many wonderful people, I simply would not be here this Christmas. But I am here, and I will be for several more. That miracle and the miracle of my wonderful wife, Laura, have saved me from myself; and I don’t know how to really say thank you for all of that.

Maybe I’ll write a book.

Thank you.

Merry Christmas,

David's audio of Glory Trail is polished and completely finished as far as our end of the process. Now, it's up to the publisher to get the final product distributed. Hopefully, it will be out soon! UPDATE #2: We haven't hear anything from the publisher yet, but we expect to any day now. (We're finding this waiting hard, too, and are truly sorry you all are having to deal with it for so long. Thanks for sticking with us.)

The new Trail book is still coming along nicely. David just read me (Ulva) his latest chapter this morning (11/27). It was awesome! The book should be published by late Spring 2018.

We named the channel David R Lewis. So, you can just type in David's name, and the YouTube search engine will pull it up, or you can click on any of the links below.
